Refreshing Sales Call

I just had a very refreshing sales with a CRM SaaS provider called Aplicor. After 15 minutes she told me their solution is likely not a great fit for our needs. And she even offered to put me in touch with someone who just went through a similar process.

The fact that a sales person can recognize when their solution is not the right fit and walk away is very refreshing. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have been on that side of the fence where, as an organization, you sell a solution that requires a boatload of customization. Nobody wins.

This gives me a glimmer of hope that there are (sales) people and organizations out there who get it. If anybody is looking for a vendor to help drive and qualify leads i would strongly suggest calling Aplicor and asking for Lisa D.

My name is David and I manage sales and marketing at Aplicor (including the now infamous Lisa D.) We routinely crawl blogs for posts about our cmpay and products so we can be smarter and we ran into this posting. While we build and publish software, what we real produce are solutions for our clients. So, even if we have software that meets many needs, we're also realisitc that it is not for every firm. For example, if you have 500 retail stores and need to collect POS data on sales, it is not really a great CRM application -- and that;s true for us too. It always pains us to walk-away from business, but if we cannot create a sustainable, win-win relatonship with a client, we're the first to tell them to look elsewhere. It may not make us as big as the other guys (Salesforce, Oracle, etc.) but we can sleep at night! Thanks for the post.
